Alberta Transportation requires all commercial carriers to pass the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) at licensed facilities, in an effort to improve highway safety for all motorists.
Registered owners of commercial vehicles must ensure each bus, truck, light truck, or trailer receives its required inspection. Furthermore, a commercial vehicle driver must be able to produce an inspection certificate upon request to an investigator or peace officer.
